The swarm

The „Parcours des fées“ is an outdoor art show which takes place every summer from June to September in the Crévoux valley, situated in the French Alps. Along a 6 miles walk which leads first through a small valley and then comes back through the forest on the slope of the mountains, the art work of a dozen artists gets married with the environment. For the 2010 edition, Martina Büttner imagined a swarm of red birds living and animating the valley, here brooding, there watching, and as a swarm crossing the forest …making the public rediscover the nature by this unexpected event.
