Wrapped toys
Covering stuffed toys and dolls with plaster strips removes all softness and color while enhancing their expressiveness. So Martina Büttner’s installations and sculptures of mummified but still tender objects become metaphors of something more universal, residing in our memories, touching and dangerous at the same time.
